    Description

Vulcain 402 Cricket movement.  17 jewel, Swiss, Running. Shines. Has Crown and Stem. Model has subsidiary second hand, which is still on movement, together with other 3 hands.  Date wheel present and looks good. Alarm hand bent!  This one has date wheel so its the 402 version of the dateless 401.
The minute hand came off right during photography! But I found it! You can see some photos have it on and some have it off. Its off now!
Running strongly. Balance has screws. Not serviced in 50 years, will not run indefinitely without service.
    Marked Waltham on plate.
Found “Waltham Vulcain Cricket Alarm Cal .402 Calendar” watches being sold for hefty prices on line. Waltham name has long, distinguished, and sometimes not so distinguished history, from its days as a US company  whose pocket watches were the rage among Union army officers and even owned by President Lincoln. At this stage in its history, Waltham sourced high quality Swiss movements, including a deal with Vulcain, for its vaunted cricket movement!
From what I see online, this calibre did not have a second crown, but rather a button which is missing.

I AM SELLING THIS AT EXTREMELY  LOW PRICE. ASSUME YOU ARE BUYING OLD BROKEN WATCH MOVEMENTS FOR PARTS. Watch movements are not for “handy” people who think can “pop out’” old movement and replace with movement they got on ebay. They are only of value to someone qualified to repair watches. Running now, but will not run indefinitely without service/cleaning!
Was  in my late father’s work bench, He was a watchmaker from 1960 to his death in 1996. I have listed a few other movements.
