Voltaic Systems - Charge Batteries For Dynamo Hubs!
Are you going to head out to the back country with some janky USB charging battery you found on eBay or at the checkout aisle of a discount store?  Hope not.  Pick out the ultimate charging solution designed to optimize your dynamo charging situation--Voltaic Systems. These units are manufactured to high specifications and provide the exact amount of storage advertised.
The Voltaic line of USB charge batteries is one of the few on the market that have three key factors that are important in a dynamo charging bikepacking scenario.  The units are designed to accept a trickle charge like you see on dynamo hubs, offer pass through charging (provides outflow from the battery at the same time the battery is being charged), and provide low-current flow with no automatic shut off (this is critical for some low-draw GPS devices, like the Garmin eTrex).
I use a voltaic when I'm out bikepacking.  During the daytime, I keep the light off on my kLite so that all of the dynamo power flows into the kLite dual USB charger.  I then run a lead from the kLite charger to the Voltaic battery, and if any of my devices are running low, I'll charge them up with USB leads from the Voltaic. This uses the pass through charging feature.  When night falls, I flip the kLite ULTRA lamp on, unplug the Voltaic battery, and then run the charging lead directly into my GPS.  This uses the low-current flow / no automatic shut off feature and balances the dynamo power between the light draw from the GPS and the higher draw from the lamp.
Three units are available - all three have identical operation and vary only in capacity, size, and weight.
    All three offer:
    two charging inputs (USB-C - 5V/2A and MicroUSB -
    5-6V/2A)
    two charging outputs (USB-A x 2, 5V/2A , 3A max
    LED charge indicator
    Battery Type: Li-Ion
Protection: Short circuit over charge, over discharge, over temperature (35℃ Input Cutoff, 45℃ Output Cutoff), under temperature (0℃ Input Cutoff, -20℃ Output Cutoff)
Safe for air travel, carry on luggage only
