Kissy Dolls
were first released by the Ideal Toy
Company
in 1961. When the doll’s arms are squeezed together she makes a kissing sound and her lips pucker up.  My
Kissy Doll
was a Christmas present from my parents in 1961. Unfortunately in late January 1962, I
squeezed
her arms gently and her head "popped up" from neck area. Head and body are still connected. She looks normal and stands properly, but the kissing mechanism is
disengaged
.
Kissy
was placed back in her box where she has lived
quietly
for the past 59 years.
This vintage 22-inch
Kissy
wears her original red and white gingham dress with red T-strap Mary Jane Shoes. Kissy stands by herself.
Her body, arms, legs, fingers are in perfect
condition
. Wrists turn. Eyes are clear and functional.
