Description
A beautiful display of late Art Deco jewelry at its finest! The center diamond is beautifully set in 4 fishtail prongs, measures 0.40ct and appears to have an old mine cut "chunky" look to it plus a cushion cut appearance as best can be observed while still mounted although GIA Graduate Gemologist is identifying it as a transitional cut. The transitional cut diamond has a lovely display of "fire" and has H color and I1 clarity. There are also 10 additional single cut diamonds of H color/SI clarity adding another 0.10ct to the total diamond weight of 0.50 carats. The melee diamonds are set in eight geometric open patterned designs in the platinum setting with mil grain edging which are interconnected to create a beautiful example of Art Deco craftsmanship! Just exquisite and so pretty on the hand!
The ring is hallmarked 10% IRID PLAT and was positively acid tested for platinum.
Under 10x magnification there is seen a slight dent and separation to the corner area of the one side gallery which does not affect the wearability of the ring and can be easily repaired by your jeweler if desired at a later date. This would all be considered normal wear for a ring of this age.
The setting measures 14mm x 8mm with a 5mm rise off the hand and the shank measures 2mm tapering to 1mm and can be easily sized by a trusted jeweler.
