    Description

Selling a collection of antique turn of the century rings.  Many more coming soon - thanks for stopping by!  : )
    ABOUT:
Beautiful old ruby ring in 8k rosy gold with pinkish red ruby set in a bezel set faux gypsy / buttercup mount setting with wide band.  I am saying faux gypsy buttercup because the linear details around the ring face are engraved, not pierced / reticulated so they are just carved into the ring face.  Such a lovely piece from the Victorian / Jugendstil / Art Nouveau period that I acquired in Europe.
Very sturdy piece with the band being wider all the way around, it weighs 4.3 grams.
It was clearly worn and loved but it is still a Beautiful ring, and would make a great antique gift as well.
This is an antique piece that I acquired in Europe, as such it is marked 333 to signify 8k gold, which is the gold standard there. While it is a lower carat, it is real gold, not gold filled or gold plated so it won't flake away or show underlying metal over time like antique gold fill would.  Tested accurately as garnet on my Presidium gem tester.
    SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/4, a little under.   The ruby is about 3mm in diameter.
    HALLMARKS:
    Marked 333 for 8k gold.
    IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
This estate piece was used and enjoyed by its previous owner.  Some casting marks / pitting on one shoulder and on the bridge of the ring that look like tarnish spots on the bridge but are slightly indented on the ring shoulder.  So please look for that in photos.  Some scuffs to the facet edges of the ruby under magnification so to the naked eye it looks to have a bit of a matte finish in some areas.
Some surface wear and scratches to the gold from wear over the years.
Very sweet piece from a very special era.  I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!  It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
