    Description

Profusely illustrated in color, this early out-of-print book pictures and describes approximately 200 different antique Victorian miniature oil lamps.
    VICTORIAN MINIATURE OIL LAMPS
by Mrs. Edward J. Delmore, Forward’s Color Productions, Inc., 1968.  Lamps from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Delmore.
14 color plates with detailed descriptions on opposing pages display on average 12 to 16 lamps per page.  Mostly night lights for children’s rooms or the rooms of ill persons during the Victorian age, these fragile beauties seldom bear maker’s or manufacturer’s marks, but “they represent a phase in American glass making that produced quality and skillful workmanship that is more recently being understood as time goes on.”  Here is a book for anyone who views with excitement and appreciation, the willingness of the Delmore family to share their unique collection with the public at large.  Captions include a terse description, and dimensions, makers and dates when know.  This rare book is a collector’s item in itself and would make a fine addition to the permanent reference library of the collector, dealer, or historian of antique lighting.
6” x 9” plastic spiral-bound softback in very good condition.  About 30 pages.
