I had the incredible good fortune of buying this artwork, along with multiple other paintings and splash art by Don Sherwood, from the estate of his lawyer's wife in Upstate, NY.
Offered here is an exceptional ORIGINAL India Ink Hand drawn and hand lettered watercolor on artist grade linen finish paper, like thin cardboard. This is not a mass produced print, or printed copy for syndication distribution - it is the original signed artwork drawn/painted by Don Sherwood - it's one of a kind

The subject is a small boy (who always sat in the front row at the movie theater) imagining himself riding on a wild west adventure with cowboy hero/actor Buck Jones.
Layout lines for text are visible.
This is hand signed on the artwork, as well as in the lower right hand corner by the artist with a dedication as seen.
According to text in lower corner, this was the cover for "Heros" - Good Old Days Magazine.
Condition is excellent with very minor small perimeter smudges and a couple very light small foxing dots and very minimal corner blunting. This  watercolor, along with others, was stored in a portfolio for many years. Never framed or displayed.
It would appear; based on the collection I purchased, that the lawyer/friend was a western fan, as all of the artwork passed to him by Sherwood is western movie/ serial themed with a personalized autograph and message. I'll be listing more as time and research permits.
Google "Don Sherwood artist". He has a long and well respected career as a syndicated cartoonist, comic book artist and illustration artist doing magazine covers. He also did all the artwork for the 1991 Camillus Knife collection called "The Riders Of  The Silver Screen".
