    I've tried a variety of products from local stores, Amazon, Ebay, but none met my expectations.
    Charcoal needs a lot of attention, gas has no flavor and pellets are time and money consuming.
    My solution was to create the the Portable Cold Smoke Generator. It can be used with any gas or other type grill or smoker, it can be connected permanently or temporarily. You can create a lot of smoke or a just a little.
    This original design unit based on experience thru years of hot and cold smoking.
    Stainless Steel construction for convenience, durability and disassembly.
    The device itself is only 4 pieces total. It can be mounted permanently or be portable.
    Main Burning chamber is from 2 mm Stainless steel tube. Ashes are conducted in specifically designed plate, so they do not fall out till you do not want but it is still possible to remove them if it is too many of them while unit is running. Parts for unit made with machine cut precision , that's why you have only 4 major parts : Stand , Fire Chamber , Smoke Exit Tube and Lid.
    Stand - 2 mm Stainless steel plate
    Fire Chamber - 3" diameter and 10" Height Stainless steel tube with welded air intake tube
    Smoke Exit tube - 1" diameter
    Lid - Machine grooved Stainless Steel Plate (Wood will crack in time from heat)
    The fire chamber  can hold more then a liter of fuel. Time generated depends on fuel, operation and experience. My normal estimate is 2-4 hours with a filled chamber, but for "excessive" needs you can burn all chips in an hour or more.
    I suggest using just wood chips or a combination of wood chips and pellets.

    NO Air pump - you will need to get it yourself.
    Silicone tubing with T connector
    The air pump provided by you needs to be connected with silicone tubing and placed at least a 1' from the unit. Smoking chamber is hot while generator is working.
