Art Deco Platinum & Diamond Filigree Shield Ring .75tcw Size 7.5

Description

This is a lovely example of a platinum Art Deco filigree shield ring set with three main diamonds set vertically and 18 smaller diamonds set throughout the filigree work. The central diamond is an old mine cut and measures approximately 1/5 carat; the diamonds above and below are approximately 1/8 ct each. One is a brilliant cut and the other a mine cut. All three diamonds are bezel set in platinum. There are 18 additional stones, prong set and surrounded by platinum bead work, varying in size from one to three points for a total carat weight of approximately 3/4 carat. The head of the ring measures approximately 15/16" (north-south) x 5/8" wide (east-west). The head is curved so it fits very comfortably on the finger, giving an elegant presentation. The shoulders of the ring are chased in a wheat design which continues throughout the shank. I don't believe the ring has ever been sized.
