    Notable Features:
This ring was handmade during the Art Deco era. Composed of 14k rose gold, the ring features a beautiful, fancy cut topaz stone and a geometric design. The use of such a large, colorful ston
e in this piece is a classic example of the styles of jewelry popular during the Art Deco era, which saw wealthy socialites and aristocrats donning bold, eye-catching jewelry to wear to Gatsby-style parties and formal events. Jewelry worn during this time period was created to make a statement and draw attention to the wearer, and this ring is no exception.
The topaz stone showcases a striking, dramatic bright blue hue.
The stone's semi-translucency allows light to filter through its body and illuminate its hue. The topaz was expertly cleaved into a fancy rectangular cut with a domed, rounded top and thin step facets for gorgeous sparkle. This stone rests securely in a rose gold bezel setting, the warm tone of the rose gold contrasting beautifully with the vivid, cooler blue of the stone. The 14k rose gold of the setting is smooth and polished, creating lovely shine when it catches the light. Each side of the setting is supported by the ring's two split shoulders, adorned at the end with a rose gold round bead design. Textured, tapering quadrilateral motifs rest in the space between the split shoulders, drawing the eye to the piece. With the bright gold and sparkling stone, this ring is impossible to miss and would have been the perfect accessory for a socialite attending a Gatsby-style party.
The split shoulders taper into a smooth, polished 14k rose gold band for a comfortable fit when worn. A classic example of Gatsby-style jewelry from the Art Deco era, this ring would make a valuable addition to any antique jewelry collection. Don't miss your chance to preserve this piece of cultural history.
    Damage:
Age appropriate wear. There is minor facet wear at two areas on one edge of the stone; however, this does not affect wear, and the stone can be re-polished by your local jeweler, if desired.

    The History
    T
he Art Deco era is famous for being the "Gatsby" or "Roaring Twenties" era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. Jewelry from this period was most often crafted between 1920 and 1940. Art Deco jewelry sometimes featured white gold or platinum, geometric designs, European cut diamonds, filigree, and calibre cut stones that are specifically cut to fit the design of the piece. During the Art Deco period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.
Topaz is found naturally in a wide range of hues, which can include colorless, light semi-translucent hues, or even deeply vibrant hues along the color spectrum. While topaz can be treated for color, most of the topaz in antique and vintage jewelry is untreated given the extent of hues found naturally around the world.
