You Are Bidding On A Rare Artist Proof Limited Edition Of Only 25 Pins “A Salute To The Imagineers” Name Tag Pin. Issued In Conjunction With The 50th Anniversary Of Disney Imagineers. This Pin Salutes the achievements of Disney’s Imagineer UB Iwerks
In 1920, Walt Disney met Ub Iwerks in Kansas City and started a small company called Laugh-O-Grams. In 1923, Laugh-O-Grams fell bankrupt. With his suitcase and , Walt headed to Hollywood with Iwerks and his brother Roy. Disney Legend Ub Iwerks is most-often known as the animator who worked directly with Walt Disney and first animated Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse in the “Silly Symphony” Series.
Ub Iwerks was so much more than just that! He was Walt’s Ultimate Inventor! His career consisted of many innovative contributions to both animated & live-action motion pictures, as well as the fields of optics, film processes, & special effects. He was also the major force behind the design of special cameras, projectors, electronics, and audio for theme park projects.
Walt Disney, Inc. (WDI) was formed on December 16, 1952 as an engineering division tasked with designing Disneyland. It was soon renamed WED Enterprises in 1953 based on Walt Disney’s initials. In September of 1953, Walt recruited artist Herbert Ryman to create an aerial rendering of Disneyland.
Roy Disney took Ryman’s original drawings to New York to attract investors that included the fledgling ABC Television Network to provide financing in exchange for a weekly Disney TV Series.
